Have a Topless Floozie at the Bootleggers Prohibition Pub in Worcester, MA

The Topless Floozie at the Bootleggers Prohibition Pub in Worcester, MA

Once you find the entrance for Bootlegger’s Probation Pub, the inside has a slightly modern take on the old speakeasy. It’s a little dark, a little loud and the bar is quite large. The wait staff dressed the part as well, and the overall vibe is fun and interesting.

First thing you do in a speakeasy is get a drink right? I had the Rough Old Fashioned and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m an Old Fashioned snob and this was made right and delicious. This is a bartender who knows his stuff.

For an appetizer, we had the Coney Island Fries, basically chili cheese fries with hot peppers server in a cast iron skillet. These were amazing, maybe some of the best chili cheese fries I’ve ever had. The fries still had plenty of body/texture (read, not too soggy) and the banana peppers gave the whole thing that little pop of spice that was quite enjoyable. Overall, an excellent appetizer.

For dinner, how could I not order up a Topless Floozie? This is a spicy buffalo dry rubbed burger with cheddar cheese, cole slaw topped with a fried egg over medium. The burger was cooked perfectly and quite enjoyable. The egg gave it a nice pop of flavor and the grilled roll was a great vehicle for the burger. While not the best burger I’ve ever had, it was enjoyable and good sized. The accompanying fries were seasoned lightly and also quite good. Overall, a good dinner.

The wait staff was attentive but also seemed quite busy. While we did have to wait to find her at times, she was quick to respond to any requests and friendly enough.

Overall, I’d say this is a great bar with decent food. Everyone I spoke to enjoyed their drinks and the mixed drink menu had some interesting new twists as well as the basic standbys. The food was good enough that I wasn’t disappointed, but I’d say this is a definite go to just for the bar.

Bootleggers and Topless floozies: What More Could You Want In A Dinner?

Topless Floozie from Bootleggers Prohibition Pub in Worcester, MA

It took me a while to find the front door to Bootleggers Prohibition Pub—they had relocated it from the last restaurant incarnation EVO that was there. That was just the beginning.

As you walk into the entrance, there is a lovely person waiting to seat you. She led us into the main dining area where you would immediately see the giant bar right in the middle of the main room. Lots of seating around it. I have to say, that if we weren’t there for dinner, I’d definitely like to hang out there drinking some moonshine!

We sat down at our table (hand made by Al and his dad) and looked around at the new place. It has a more rustic tone than it’s predecessor. Lots of wood and warm tones throughout. Photo’s of the past and images of prohibition line the walls. A nice touch. We had 16 in our party and there was plenty of room for us and the regulars that were there.

I ordered the Topless floozie burger it was described as a ½ lb flame grilled spicy buffalo dry rubbed Angus beef with cheddar cheese, coleslaw and a fried egg over medium. I did ask them to cook my egg over easy as I love the runny yoke. Everyone that knows me, knows that I love an egg over pretty much anything. Adding it to my burger was fantastic! I ordered it medium rare and that’s what I got. It’s amazing how often most burger joints will overcook them. Not here. Perfect! Having looked around the room at the others who also got burgers, they seemed very happy with their choices. The burgers are large and very filling.

As my side I ordered a small bowl of chili. Well, it seemed more like a large bowl. I’m glad I didn’t order a large! It’s nice to have the soup as a side as opposed to just salad or fries.

I ordered a Midnight Moon Blackberry Moonshine on the rocks. I love me some Moonshine and it didn’t disappoint. Thanks Chef Al for your recommendation!

The young lady who waited on us was very nice and offered suggestions if we had any questions and seemed to know the menu well. She was very pleasant and easy to talk with and got our orders correct. To be honest, I didn’t have much time chatting with her as we were all carrying on conversations with everyone around us.

Overall, I’d be happy to stop back in for a burger and Moonshine. I’d love to eat at the bar and chat with friends here. It’s a warm atmosphere and the food is good with some different offerings than many other local places.

If you want something different, be sure to check them out!!
