Ginger Martini

A Ginger Martini at Feng Asian Bistro, taken on site with iPhone

Red wine is often said to be the best choice of beverage with sushi as the flavor and body helps to release the umami of the roll. Those looking for something  a little more refreshing than a red wine should look towards the Ginger Martini. Feng Asian Bistro & Hibachi creates their martini with a crisp citrus vodka combining Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, St. Germaine, sour and bitters. To garnish the drink, a fresh strip of ginger. While ginger is used to cleanse the palate when alternating sushi rolls, when incorporating it within a martini will truly all to the sushi experience.

Patron Cocktail Lab

Patron has events to showcase creative new cocktails using their tequilas—called Cocktail Labs. This current theme is “hot drink,” requiring the use of one hot ingredient and a Patron product.

Mixologist David Delaney of Niche Hospitality has taken the challenge by creating a twist on a hot buttered rum. His concoction consists of Patron Anejo, Mango Butter (an ingredient David made with mango, cinnamon and vanilla bean), bitters, agave nectar, and boiling water, with a nutmeg and cinnamon garnish.

Stop down The Citizen and ask for the cocktail lab drink, and vote for his drink through the Patron Cocktail Lab through February 7th.
