The Grilled Bistro Fillet at 86 Winter on Water Street was of medium size, but filling. Cooked medium rare and accompanied with a rich horseradish demi-glaze the fillet is bursting with flavor. Served with potato au gratin and green beans, each side was fresh, cooked to perfection and did not need any additional seasonings.

Homemade Meatloaf
Meatloaf is an American comfort food classic and 86 Winter puts an interesting twist on their version by combining veal and beef, then topping it with a interesting port wine sauce. The meatloaf was very fresh, the veal brought a unique flavor to the dish and the port wine sauce was sweet and complimented the seasoning very well. The side of garlic green beens and rice were great additions. The brown rice had a strong saffron taste and green beans were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of garlic and served al dente. The dish satisfied my big appetite as it was served with generous portions, two large pieces of meatloaf and plenty of rice and green beans.
