La Cappuccina Soave

If you are looking for a new taste in white wine, consider the La Cappuccina Soave available at The Citizen Wine Bar on Exchange Street. The La Cappuccina Soave is an all-organic offering from the Veneto region of northeast Italy and if you lean towards choosing a Pinot Grigio you will be pleasantly surprised with this wine. When poured, the rich straw yellow color will invite you in, followed by a dry, fruit-forward flavor that has a hint of bitter almonds on the finish.

Meant to be enjoyed at a young age, this wine has a silky texture and when paired with food, La Cappuccina stands up to a variety of cheeses, seafood hors d’oeuvres, swordfish or chicken dishes. But as pointed out at The Citizen, Soave can also be the perfect pairing partner to the spicy offerings of Indian, Thai and Korean cuisines.

Wine Enthusiast recently wrote…”With surging popularity, this Italian white is poised to outshine its past” and we agree. So next time you are looking for a new taste in white wine, try the La Cappuccina Soave at The Citizen Wine Bar.

Steamed Milk

Steamed Milk with a shot of vanilla flavor at Inhouse Coffee on Shrewsbury Street.

Many of us overload with caffeine throughout the work day, so when we go out to one of our favorite cafés in Worcester we are hesitant to push ourselves over that proverbial cliff. Those of us that are looking to actually sleep at night have countless alternatives to coffee. At In House Coffee on Shrewsbury Street, we’ve opted for the Steamed Milk. This drink is a simplified latte, replacing the coffee with a shot of flavor (in this case vanilla) mixed with (skim or regular) milk. An extra hot stream of water creates a nice frothy foamed texture, mixing in a lightly sweet flavor. So, when going to a coffee shop but not looking for the caffeine buzz, try the Steamed Milk.
