Thanks to an anonymous donor, ArtsWorcester will distribute $10,000 in grants to Worcester County artists to spur the creation of new art.  These grants, given in sums between $500 and $1,500, cover the expenses of art supplies and equipment needed to make new visual art, of any kind and in any medium.

The works produced with Material Needs Grants are exhibited at ArtsWorcester eighteen months after the awards are made. “These grants do triple duty,” says Juliet Feibel, Executive Director of ArtsWorcester. “They support local artists; they put new art in front of the public; and they inspire artists simply by asking them what they would make if funds were not an obstacle.”

The deadline for applications is December 18th, 2014. All members of ArtsWorcester residing in Worcester County are eligible to apply. The application form and guidelines can be found on ArtsWorcester’s website, artsworcester.org/calls-grants.
