Shiraz Armenian Cuisine prepares grilled eggplant slices with grilled chicken served with rice and salad. This entree would be a safe choice for someone trying to ease into Armenian cuisine without ordering a burger and fries (also on the menu). No surprises here – grilled eggplant and chicken pieces with minimal seasoning served with salad, rice pilaf, green beans in tomato based sauce, and grilled tomatoes. -DO

Stuffed Grapeleaves (Sarma) Plate
Shiraz Armenian Cuisine’s stuffed grapeleaves (Sarma) plate includes ground lamb and rice rolled in grapeleaves served with rice, yogurt, and a salad. If you love grapeleaves, the Sarma Plate is a must have. The salad arrives first. It doesn’t look like anything special (mostly greens and tomatoes), but the dressing is good. The main dish arrives half-covered with eight grapeleaves; each perfectly rolled, deep green, and flavor-packed! Rice fills any remaining space on the plate – far too buttery to leave even a single gain behind. I didn’t expect to eat the yogurt until I spread a thick layer across a grapeleave bite … delicious! I’d only change one small thing … I’d request the salad WITH the main dish, rather than before … and I will next time! -JJ
