Cashew Nut Chicken

Cashew Nut Chicken from Thai time on Highland Street in Worcester, MA

First stop 2015 for the Foodies group was Thai Time, located on Highland Street.

This quaint, family owned and operated restaurant is a perfect little venue for some authentic Thai food and I should mention is BYOB.

I have been to Thai Time several times, and each time I have had a great meal. Typically, I always order the Thai Time Lad-Nar. Such a delicious dish; chicken, vegetables, and egg in a light brown sauce, highly recommend. However, since I was just finishing a New Year Resolution of a body detox, I had to keep it light.
To start we ordered some Edamame, always a favorite healthy snack. For my meal, I ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken – Pineapple, bamboo shoots, carrots, onion, green peppers, mushrooms, and cashew nuts. The meal came with a side of white rice; the dish was spicy, but not overly. I would say one star on the spice scale. I thought the meal came with the perfect serving of chicken and ample vegetables. The flavor was excellent; a Thai based blend of spices in a light sauce, not too heavy and full of flavor with some spice. For my beverage (recall detox = sans alcohol) I ordered the Thai Iced Tea; this is brewed tea with coconut milk, so tasty, a bit sweet yet very good.

I will certainly be back to Thai Time. Give it a try!

The Vesuvius Pizza from Dino’s

The Vesuvius Pizza from Dino's on Lord Street in Worcester, MA

Dino’s Ristorante was the next stop on the 2014 Foodies tour. Nestled in the hills of Worcester, Dino’s is deemed a classic Italian Restaurant.

We started with some delicious bruschetta mixture and bread. The bruschetta was bursting with flavor, tomatoes, onions, basil in a light olive oil and the bread was extremely fresh and delicious.

For my main course, I decided to try the pizza, yes, you know me Pizza Girl, – typically necessary to try if available. I selected the Vesuvius – Ham and Pineapple with Mozzarella Cheese and Tomato Sauce. I ordered the medium and for me, the size of the pizza was great. The ham was my favorite, thin sliced slightly browned on the edges, ample cheese but there could have been a little more sauce in my opinion. The amount of pineapple on the pizza was slightly imbalanced to the amount of ham. The crust was very thick. Overall, it was a good pizza for my mature pizza palate. To go with my meal, I enjoyed a few glasses of the homemade Sangria, which was very good. Ciao!
