Lamb Kabobs

Lamb Kabobs

Lamb Kabobs

If you like lamb try the kebob at Zorba’s Taverna Restaurant and Bar. These kabobs were not greasy and were marinated in a blend of spices then grilled…and I have to say it was done with the perfect amount of mouth watering flavor. The strongest spice was the fragrant rosemary. I love lamb and these were cooked medium rare just like I ordered them. And that is rare to find – usually lamb is over cooked, but not here- It truly was perfect! The rice was a little watered down in flavor but the spices from the lamb made up for it. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. When I ordered it, I asked the waitress if she thought I’d made a good choice (you’d be surprised how often this get a negative response and an offering up of something else on the menu.) But in this case, she had a genuine smile on her face and said “That’s an excellent choice, they have been marinating since early this morning.” So glad I ordered it… -DD

Imperial Lamb

Once discovering Thai food in Worcester, it can be very difficult to stray from the alluring flavor of the Pad Thai. Between the noodles, chicken, and shrimp it is notably a staple of Thai. Escaping Worcester briefly tonight, a few yards into Shrewsbury, I found myself at The Thai Place (yes, the name is pretty straightforward) being tempted by something other than the pad thai—the Imperial Lamb. Besides being a great cut of lamb (with bone), the seasoning and grilling—combined with the standard “no thrills” steamed thai veggies—came together perfectly to offer a suitable alternative to the pad thai. Moral of the story: if you stray from the known enough times, at least one of those times you’ll find a suitable alternative.
