Ultimate Herb Roll

What a nice new Sushi restaurant Hirosaki Prime is!  The atmosphere was super and with a modern interior – perfect for a date night.

I am new to Sushi and went cautiously with my choice of food selection.  Therefore, I chose the Ultimate Herb Roll.  This vegetarian roll was soo good tasting and with a little ginger dipping sauce even better. The presentation was picture perfect.  The Inari was a fun side dish, – a fried tofu over rice.  It was great tasting as well.  The cooks were amazing to watch, as they prepared all the other meat dishes at the counters in front of us and funny food jokes were a part of the show as well.  Quite entertaining.

I asked the waiter about specials for kids and the restaurant offer every Tuesday nights – 1 child eats for free per paid entre.  I am going to invited my little ones to try Japanese food in the new year.  I am looking forward to this special treat for my family.

Happy New Year to all you Foodies out there. -CD

Swordfish Hibachi Dinner

I chose to go with the Hibachi dinner here at Hirosaki Prime and I was not disappointed (although it was a tough choice because the rest of the menu looked outstanding).  The chefs were pretty talented with their tricks and enthusiastic too. The soup and salad you get with the hibachi dinner were both awesome – I really liked the dressing on the salad. I also liked that you had the option for either the miso soup or onion soup – something I haven’t seen other hibachi restaurants offer before. I chose the onion soup was  it hot and comforting as soup should be.  I opted to get the friend rice also cooked on the hibachi grill and it was yummy with their signature mayo based sauce drizzled all over it, although I was slightly disappointed it didn’t come standard with the meal ( of coarse those who prefer plain sticky rice I am sure would appreciate this).  I’ve been to many Hibachi restaurants and I’ve ordered many things from the menu, but this was the first place I have ever ordered swordfish – and what a treat it was. I was a bit apprehensive about picking the swordfish because it is so easy to over cook , but it was rewarded and it was perfectly cooked and smothered in a sweet teriyaki sauce.

It did take awhile, from the time we got there to the time I left, but it was dinner and a show, and the food was delicious so I didn’t mind so much. Hirosaki Prime seems to have a some unique tricks which make it stand out from your typical hibachi restaurants – and worth the try. -SB
