City Bar and Grille opened tonight at 395 Chandler Street led by owners Al and Cynthia Soto. The space previously housed Cafe Espresso. Al cut his chops in Boston working for Troquet and the East Coast Tavern Group. Soto made most of the dining room furniture himself, with the exception of a row of seats salvaged from the Boston Garden. Tonight’s menu included honey smoked sea trout, pozole, and a beer braised short rib.
