Knights! is a major arms and armor exhibition opening in March 2014. This will mark the first step in the long-term integration of a selection of objects from the Higgins Armory Museum. This significant collection represents objects from medieval and renaissance Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, Japan, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. This exhibition will showcase these works within the context of other art and artifacts from WAM’s permanent collection, showcasing highlight objects for their unique historic and aesthetic value. The five separate sections of the exhibition (Courtly Pursuits, The Dance of Love and War, Knights of the Round Table, The Arc de Triomphe, and Good + Evil), illustrate in detail the contexts in which these works were made and used. Technology-based interactives, hands-on educational tools, new programmatic initiatives, and innovative family-friendly signage will guide visitors through this landmark exhibition.

Join us for an evening of medieval revelry as we celebrate the opening of Knights! This premiere event will feature an evening packed with performances, music, theatrics, and more—a star-studded event with enough spectacle to go around. WAM rolls out the red carpet for this flamboyant extravaganza!

Knights Renaissance Faire

WAM is celebrating the opening of Knights! all weekend at our first-ever Renaissance Faire, featuring music; jugglers; costumed performers; theatrical performances of Shakespeare and King Arthur; sword demonstrations; storytelling; a chess tournament; and hands-on shield making workshops and sword classes. Come dressed as your favorite super hero or knight and enjoy all the fairies, wizards, and other colorful characters wandering around the galleries. There will be food and beverages galore including various kinds of grog.

Bringing your music back to Worcester!  Symply Fargone Productions is excited to announce several upcoming shows, to be held at the historic Mechanics Hall. All seats are reserved.

Maria Muldaur with special guest Marylou Ferrante! Saturday February 8th at 7:30pm. This very special show will celebrate the best of American and Vintage Blues. Maria Muldaur is touring with her Jug Band, and her sweet voice will bring you back to the 70s when her hit “Midnight at the Oasis” filled our ears.

An Evening with Tom Rush!  Thursday February 27th at 8pm. This iconic folk singer shaped music from the 60s to today. Tom started his career while a student at Harvard and continues to fill the finest halls with his wry humor and warm, expressive voice.

WORMSTOCK!  Friday March 14th.  Worcester’s Day of Peace and Music featuring Firefall, Pure Prairie League, Rusty Young (POCO) and Craig Fuller (POCO and LITTLE FEAT). Tickets on sale soon!

American Idol Runner-Up Crystal Bowersox! Thursday March 20th at 8pm. Come to Mechanics Hall to see this talented artist and hear her funky, bluesy music.
