BirchTree Bread Company, which opened in 2014 serving artisan breads, pastries and specialty coffee, has officially begun serving beer; including a selection from Worcester’s 3Cross Brewery and Wormtown Brewery. In addition to beer, wine will be available. Founded by Rob Fecteau, BirchTree has become a staple in Worcester.

So, the next time you’re in the Canal District you’ll be able to enjoy a libation in a setting that isn’t a bar.

The British are getting closer….

Since news broke in August about the anticipated arrival of The British Beer Company, Worcester has been seeing signs of life at the building formerly occupied by Coral Seafood and, later, the short-lived Urban Kitchen and Bar.

Yesterday, British Beer Company co-founder, Gary Simon invited Mass Foodies in for a sneak peek of the construction. Without a doubt, it is difficult to remember how the former restaurants looked. The current phase of construction has given a fresh start to the restaurant and the British-style pub is taking shape.

Gary said that anticipated April 11th opening is still on schedule.
