Sweet Pastry Shop and Dessert Bar on Shrewsbury Street offers a private setting with desserts second to none and what’s best is that they are all freshly prepared right in front of you. Including the Popcorn Ice Cream. Made with cream and milk from local Coopers farm in Leicester, pop corn that has been popped buttered and salted, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Don’t worry though, you won’t find any soggy popcorn within the ice cream itself, instead Chef Alina warms the cream, milk and sugar and then adds the popcorn to it, allowing it to infuse for 20-30 minutes before straining it out.
Prepared in a cute popcorn container and finished with salted peanuts and caramel, this dessert is one that speaks for itself.
